The Beaman Tap > The Tap (5)
The Beaman Tap was part of my childhood. Every Saturday, heading out in the pickup truck with dad and my big brother, listening to AM radio rolling down the gravel road, cigarette dangling from dad's fingers, "Delta Dawn" coming out of the speakers on the way to the Tap.
I was six, but there was a place for me at the table at the tap, circled up with all the other farmers, eating a donut, drinking copious amounts of Mt. Dew, watching dad play Pepper.
The Tap is no more. The pictures here were taken the week before it was torn down. It is being rebuilt, my brother's construction company laid the foundation to the new Tap before the first freeze this fall, but it just won't be the same.
